The Tri-State Human Resources Association, which serves the corner communities of Southwest Missouri, Southeast Kansas, and Northeast Oklahoma, has released a new website through its affiliation with the Society on Human Resource Management. Check it out online at www.tristatehra.shrm.org. The SHRM affiliation gives the website a convenient gateway to SHRM resources and intelligence. The new website also features a dynamic lineup of events and presentations for 2007.
Meetings are the third Wednesday of each month (except November 2007) and are held in Conference Room 2 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center Conference Center, 2727 McClelland Boulevard. Cost is $5.50 for lunch.
Greg Carter, Attorney at Law, presents the April 18th on Workers Comp Claims. Greg brings a wealth of expertise to the field through experience in his law practic, which is devoted almost exclusively to the defense of workers’ compensation cases on behalf of employers and insurers. He has tried well over 250 workers’ compensation cases to a conclusion, and regularly defends cases in Joplin, Neosho, Nevada, Springfield, Lebanon, and Branson.
The May 16th meeting focuses on HSAs, HRAs, and M-O-U-S-E. Wendy Belden, owner of WKW Enterprises, LLC, and Dave Reynolds, Chief Operating Officer of Coventry Health Care are slated as presenters.
Looking ahead to the summertime, for June 20th, Erica Simon from Missouri’s Division of Labor and Hour discusses child labor laws. Legislative updates and the SHRM foundation will headline the the July 18th meeting and State Representatives Kevin Wilson and Marilyn Ruestman as presenters. August 1-3 is the Missouri statewide SHRM conference at the Lake of the Ozarks.
