• Resources for Confined Spaces Compliance: The OSHA Confined Spaces Advisor provides guidance to help employers protect workers from the hazards of entry into permit-required confined spaces. The Advisor will help you determine if a space is covered by OSHA’s Permit-Required Confined Spaces regulation. The system provides options to review the definitions of technical terms, to review answers to frequently asked questions, and to review the regulatory text.
• Resources for Fire Safety Compliance: The OSHA Fire Safety Advisor addresses employerresponsibilities under the OSHA general industry standards (29CFR1910) which cover the majority of workplace types. Employers of workers engaged in construction, agriculture, and marine industries are covered by other OSHA regulations and their obligations are not addressed by this Advisor. Fire safety is also regulated by other authorities at the federal, state and local levels. Compliance with these other regulations is not addressed by this Advisor. The Advisor will ask you a series of questions designed to find policies and practices which make a particular standard applicable.
• Resources for Hazards Awareness Compliance: The OSHA Hazard Awareness Advisor is designed to help general industry employers and workers identify possible safety and health hazards in their workplace, and to direct users to OSHA standards addressing those hazards. It should be particularly helpful to small employers without the means to hire safety and health professionals to evaluate their workplace.
• Resources for Lead in Construction Compliance: OSHA developed this interactive expert system to help construction employers, whose workers may be exposed to lead, understand and comply with OSHA’s regulations regarding occupational exposure to lead. OSHA appreciates the comments and suggestions it received from trade associations, labor organizations and the general public during the development of this tool.
• Resources for promoting a Drug-Free Workplace: The Drug-Free Workplace Advisor provides information to businesses about how to establish and maintain an alcohol- and drug-free workplace. This Advisor also provides information about the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1998.
