Staffing.org’s largest and most comprehensive survey of recruiting practices, in its seventh annual report, indicates that organizations are spending more to recruit the candidates they want but are getting less for their recruiting dollar. Resources from the Missouri Career Centers in Joplin and Monett can help ease the cost burden of recruiting in several ways.
Unlike your run of the mill job matching websites, the Missouri Career Center backs up GreatHires with actual workforce consultants available in the office or by phone and email to connect you to valuable recruitment and human resource services. Job Advertising helps you find your next hire. Prescreened Applicants can speed up the hiring process. Labor Market Information empowers your firm for strategic decision making. Compliance Information helps you avoid problems. A wide array of Human Resource tools can help guide your management team and offer referrals to organizations that can help in your pursuit of success. Visit the Missouri Career Centers in Joplin or Monett, call us at (417) 629-3000 or 235-7877, or drop us an email to tracy.lemmons@ded.mo.gov.

The Missouri Career Centers are taking job interviews to the next level. A new solution set to debut in mid-February seeks to revolutionize the interview process, often a challenging and riskladen task for employers. The Southwest corner of Missouri will be the first in the Show-Me State to debut the Virtual Video Interview™ (VVI) system, which provides benefits for all stakeholders.

The Joplin Career Center has a special room dedicated to use by business customers. The Business Resource Center serves as a private interviewing suite for employee job interviews. The Center also stocks a library of printed resources and periodicals for review and is complete with high-speed internet connectivity and a color laser printer for use by business customers while they’re away from the office. To schedule use of the Business Resource Center, contact Tracy Lemmons at 417-629-3000 Ext. 237 or by email to tracy.lemmons@ded.mo.gov.

Another new initiative of the career center is Occupational Planning through the WorkKeys Estimator ™ system. Career Center professionals help facilitate the Estimator tool to help business better identify their occupational skill needs, improve the quality of matches from tested/credentialed job seekers, and guide training programs to boost retention of a company’s existing workforce.
